Twenty years working alongside people to build what matters, in places where the systems are missing or broken.
It usually starts the same way. A market that should be moving and is not. A supply chain that broke three steps back. Farmers who cannot get their goods to market at a price that works. For twenty years I have been the one who walks into rooms like that and builds.
The sectors kept changing: humanitarian rapid response, then startups, then social enterprise and business, mostly across East and Central Africa, with work in Latin America, Asia, Europe and Canada. What I actually did stayed the same. Align a team around the real problem, then lead it and manage it. Build the system it needs, innovate when the standard playbook does not fit, train the people who will run it, coach and teach as I go.
What I believe in is compounding: great people, with great tools, working on great things. That multiplies. Concretely: a management information system the team runs themselves. An operation that holds under pressure. A cost calculator a trader actually opens on a Monday morning.
Along the way I kept rebuilding the same spreadsheets for people who could not afford a consultant, so a few of them are here, free, in English and French.
